And thanks for coming. I’m so happy you’re here! Welcome to my crazy, sexy, cool life! It may sound cliché, but it’s definitely true. All parts of my life have some level of craziness, sexiness, and coolness.
Let’s take a minute and celebrate!!
You know it, and I know it. 2020 has not been ANYTHING like we planned. But we are here and if you are reading this, you experienced it thus far… and are still here! Pause, give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate because this year has challenged us ALL! Police brutality, police killing black people and getting away with it. Systemic racism, socio-economic oppression on levels I never imagined. Virtual learning, working from home, aiming to stay fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle, finding out things about people close to us that we may or may not like, because we are forced to spend more time and shared space together. A lot of love and a lot of loss, this outrageous pandemic, economic and unemployment tragedy and countless other things, this year has served us all a gut punch, a kick to the chin, and an open handed slap to the back of the neck!
So, of the 31.7 million expected bloggers for this crazy ass 2020, why read mine? Because I’m a beautiful, intelligent, bad ass black woman and I started blogging to help you become a bad ass, too! I’m not only a mom and grandmother, but a sexy and hella confident woman. Yes, hella! I’m a west coast girl for life, born and raised in the beautiful state of Washington. I’m a corporate professional working for Allstate Insurance Company, a self-published author, a dancing machine, a fashionista, and a healthy living (for the most part), stress coping, and time managing beast, okay!? Black empowerment is a passion of mine, and so is teaching young girls self esteem, self-love, and self-advocacy.
But, if you’re here, you’re in for some awesome shit. Oh, I cuss sometimes. So, if that offends you, this may not be the place for you. And that is okay! But I guarantee you, you’ll be missing out!
So, what can you expect? How do you genuinely be yourself? How do you heal from heartbreak and rejection? How do you forgive yourself for bad decisions you made? How do you challenge yourself to break rules and standards, self check and self reflect, and be unapologetically YOU? I’ve got you covered!
How do you separate “mom” from “me”? How do you manage multiple kids and their different schedules, one on one time with them? How do you handle their different needs, desires, and wants, and how are you identifying those things if they’re not speaking up? Yep, I’ve got you covered!
I’ve (technically) been married and divorced twice and, from 2017 to 2019, did a two year social experiment dating men in different age groups from different backgrounds. Trust me ladies, I can teach you a thing or two about dating in this decade. Some do’s and don’ts and we’ll be taking a look at ourselves and challenging some stigmas and commonalities.
I eat, sleep, breathe, and bleed a tune. Music is always on and if it is not playing, I am singing, my children are singing, or the y are playing music. Music is life.
And my lifestyle is dope as hell! Fun, spontaneous, liberated, profound, thrifty, entrepreneurial, and fun as hell!
FML stands for Fashion, Motherhood, Music, Love, and Lifestyle. And that’s exactly what this blog is about. All the crazy, sexy, and cool parts of my life, where I’ve come from, where I am, and where we are going together!
Stay tuned. You’re in for a ride!
