And here we are…

Another month. Midway through another year. Another season. Here we are, already stepping into Summer… and it feels great! I love Summer – other than Spring, it’s my favorite season. It just seems a bit crazy that it’s June already. This year is flying by. They say the older you get the shorter your days are, and I get that. At almost 40, my days feel half as long as they did 20 years ago. I often find myself wishing for six more hours in the day. I feel like we just celebrated New Years and now, here we are about to usher in Summer.

This post is simply a dedication to Summer. To the season with the most sunshine, the longest days and nights – I love you. I have been waiting for your arrival for many months now and I am so excited that you are here!

Now that you are here, I thank you. For the fun you bring, the sweaty and risky adventures you encourage, the flavors of ice cream you share, the trying hikes, the non stop swimming, the endless laughter, the cheek hurting smiles, the child like joy – thank you Summer. I’m so happy you’re here!

I have several exciting plans this summer! I’ll be doing some traveling around the country, visiting family and a few friends. I plan on taking many trips to the beach, many trips to the waterfront, and many trips to hike in different parks. This summer is all about fun and laughter. The last two and a half years have been very heavy and hard to navigate. I need some fun. I need some adventure! And here we are, finally arriving in the perfect season for it all!!

I hope your summer is full of fun and adventure, lots of love and laughter, and all the sunshine your heart can handle. Have fun!
